Mashable Praises Narragansett Beer's Social Media Efforts

Mashable.com just posted an article about four beer companies who are doing social media right. Their number one choice? Narragansett, of course!

I'm thrilled with the article, as I was crucially involved with the launch of the website, writing much of the content and coming up with ideas for it. It also highlights Narragansett's blog as a particular standout among the beer companies, which fills me with pride because I was the editor-in-chief from the very beginning and even helped train the current bloggers.

Here's an exerpt:
From a content standpoint, its blog is leagues beyond the norm when it comes to the beer industry. In addition to useful content such as recipes, videos and event invites, they also run contests on a regular basis, highlight the ‘Gansett Girl of the Week, and showcase user-generated pledge videos.
Great stuff! Read the whole article here.

ECCO Yak 2.0 Leaflet

ECCO is a Danish footwear company famous for making some of the world’s most comfortable shoes. I worked on their Perfomance line, which includes a revolutionary hiking boot made with yak leather. This is a leaflet I wrote to promote the launch of the second-generation yak leather boot.

Narragansett Beer Holiday '09

For the Holiday 2009 Season, Narragansett gave away a set of rebus coasters with purchases of 12-packs. Some lucky people found special messages in their coasters and won free beer for a year or tickets to Red Sox Spring Training games. I wrote the copy for all the pieces that were produced, including the rebus puzzles.

ECCO Wave Footbed

These are ads I wrote to promote ECCO's new Wave Footbed sandals, which actually massage your feet as you walk.

Narragansett Beer History Postcards

Once considered the pride of New England, Narragansett beer was on the brink of extinction when a group of investors purchased and relaunched it in 2005. I was the lead writer for the relaunch campaign, which included traditional, viral and interactive ads.

This is a series of five postcards that was sent to New England bar owners encouraging them to carry Narragansett on draught in order to help build a brand new local brewery.

Narragansett Beer Sponsors The RISD Nads

To promote their new sponsorship of RISD's ice hockey team, the Nads (yes, that's really their name), Narragansett's mascot, Clammie, challenged RISD's mascot, Scrotie, to a showdown during intermission. Needless to say, I was thrilled when they asked me to come up with a poster for the duel.

Narragansett Beer E-Blast Collection

Here's a sampling of e-blasts I wrote for Narragansett Beer.

Narragansett Beer Clammie Awards

Narragansett Beer ran an online contest asking for fans to submit 'Gansett-themed artwork for a chance to win free beer for a year. This is the poster I wrote for the promotion.

Narragansett Beer Goes To The Strip Club

The following posters where made specially for New England strip clubs, which account for a hefty amount of the beer's sales.

If you've seen either of these in person, then I know where you've been...

Lilly Pulitzer Collection Of E-Blasts

Here's a small collection of e-blasts I wrote for Lilly Pulitzer.

Prince LightSpeed

In February 2010 Prince Tennis will release their most hi-tech (and expensive) shoe in company history. I had the honor of naming the shoe and working on its launch campaign.

Lilly Pulitzer Picture Contest

To promote their partnership with Florida's Natural,  Lilly Pulitzer ran a picture contests asking fans to send in pictures of them holding limited-edition Lilly Pulitzer-themed cartons of Ruby Red grapefruit juice. I got to name the contest and work on all the promotional copy.

Midtown Village

When Quaker City Mercantile moved their offices to a new, up-and-coming neighborhood, they were asked to rename the area. They dubbed it Midtown Village and they’ve been promoting all the events that take place there ever since.

The neighborhood features a ton of locally-owned shops and restaurants, so when the economic crisis hit, the owners decided to stay open later once a week and offer customers special deals. I was in charge of promoting this event.
